Marine rescuers responded at 8:46 p.m. to the bay for a jet skier in distress on Wednesday night, July 10., according to Nassau County Police.

Marine Bureau, Aviation Bureau, U.S. Coast Guard, and 7th precinct officers, along with multiple fire departments, searched the bay, police said.

The Nassau Heli 5 helicopter located the man in the marsh on Big Crow Island, according to police.

The helicopter landed and recovered the man, taking him to Wantagh Park where he was reported to be uninjured and refused medical attention, said Nassau County Police.
